Jessica Bethany Remembered

CENTRAL POINT, Ore. — Hundreds of people are remembering a Central Point woman found murdered one week ago.

About 400 people attended a vigil for Jessica Bethany in Central Point on Saturday night. Police say Bethany was killed a week ago by her ex boyfriend, Jeffery Wayne Wheeler, who is in Jackson County Jail on murder charges.

Friends, family and members of the community paid tribute to Bethany with a candle light vigil, and also hoped to raise awareness for the issue of domestic violence.

Speakers at Saturday’s vigil included members of Jessica’s family, and representatives from Community Works. Bethany’s one year old child is now in the care of her family.
