EAGLE POINT, Ore. — Jackson County School District 9 in Eagle Point has approved a proposal to add a new charter school to their district.
The Eagle Point based district has seen a drop in enrollment in the last few years, and now they are hoping with a newly approved charter school, it will help get some of those kids back. The new school will be called “Crater Lake Charter Academy,” and in the proposal, the school will offer alternative education to students from Kindergarten through 12.
The Eagle Point district already offers another type of alternative education with D9 Online, which is an integrated online program with classroom attention.
The district will start drafting a contract for the new school immediately and hopes to have the school open in time for the coming school year.
