MEDFORD, Ore. – The Medford Jazz Festival kicks off Friday, drawing 14 bands from all over the country.
Some folks were starting the celebration early Friday afternoon, warming up the dance floor for tonight’s shows. Organizers say this event isn’t only for jazz fans. It’s for music fans, and dance fans, of all ages.
“Every band has a beat and every venue has a dance floor, so it’s more than just about music but it’s an awful lot about dancing as well,” Medford Jazz Festival Dennis Ramsden
This year’s special guest is Lena Prima, daughter of the famous musician Louie Prima. It’s her first ever jazz performance and she’ll dedicate a portion of her performance to her father. The event runs through Sunday.
