MEDFORD, Ore. – An inmates escapes from the Jackson County Jail Monday night and is still on the run. Dozens of officers and multiple law enforcement agencies across the Rogue Valley are still searching for him.

Sheriff Mike Winters said the inmate escaped from a recreation area on the top, third  floor and jumped 15 feet to a tree. Sheriff Winters says Bradley Monical somehow cut a hole in a chain-link net that covers the top.

“I wish it didn’t happen. Honestly, I mean, we own this deal and we’re going to make it right,” said Jackson County Sheriff Mike Winters. “But, he’s supposed to be in there and he’s not, so I’m not going to stand here and make excuses.”

On Tuesday, a landscaping company worked to remove the trees around the jail near the backside of the building. Monical was lodged at the Jackson County Jail since August 2011, for robbery charges out of Coos County. He was also awaiting trial for suspected bank robbery in Ashland.

Investigators say Monical is a white man, 5′-7” tall and weighs 170 pounds. He has short brown hair and brown eyes and was last seen wearing dark green jail clothes and slip-on canvas shoes. If you see Monical, contact any law enforcement agency.
