MEDFORD, Ore. – The Democratic National Convention is underway. Some chosen Democrats from Southern Oregon are joining their colleagues in North Carolina.
As those local Democrats head out to the convention, those left behind are sitting tight as everything kicks off. The Jackson County Democrats Group says locals Tonya Graham and Patrick Vorman are delegates to the national convention. They will be representing Congressional District 2.
Among many other issues on the list, Southern Oregon Democrats hope jobs and foreclosures take precedence. Also, for the first time, Democrats have included formal support for same-sex marriage rights in their party platform, a move local delegates are excited to see.
Jackson County Democrats will be holding a viewing party, open to the public on Thursday, at 6:30 p.m.
