MEDFORD, Ore. — Two Jackson County dams are expected to be in the top ten list of structures suggested to be removed.
The Oregon Fish and Wildlife Commission is scheduled to meet Friday to adopt the new list of dams and other structures that block fish passage. State law requires the list to be updated every five years.
This year’s includes more than 500 structures, and a top ten list of the worst impediments. The Wimer Dam, and another along Evans Creek, are the only two in Southern Oregon to make this years top ten list, which included the former Gold Ray Dam in the last list.
