If you’re going to be outside this weekend you should know that temperatures are going to be considerably cooler! In fact, 10-15 degrees cooler! A low pressure trough will be moving into the NW through the weekend bringing in a cooler air mass, especially to the higher elevations! But the effects will be felt to the valley floors, as temperatures will only be warming to the upper 50’s Saturday afternoon in the Rogue Valley.
Isolated showers are in the forecast and no significant rains are expected like this time a week ago, however the chance for showers will last through Monday. With this said, umbrellas shouldn’t be necessary but jackets certainly will be as you’re heading out! The best chance for rain showers for the Pear Blossom Festival is going to be in the morning through midday, but again these are going to be very isolated showers and it’s possible many locations stay dry! Winds are going to pick up and snow levels are going to drop Saturday evening into Sunday morning. Because showers will be light, and also few and far between, snow accumulation is not a concern. Any snow showers are capable of producing nothing more than an inch.
Showers will become slightly more widespread, but still isolated, Sunday & Monday. With this cooler air mass in place, temperatures will drop to the mid 30’s in the valleys and the low 20’s in the East Side. This means frost will be developing into the morning hours through Tuesday. For the orchardists, full frost forecasts will be provided as necessary!
Have a great weekend & enjoy all of the activities around town!
