Investigators Still Quiet on Murder Case

monica wedWIMER, Ore. – Law enforcement agencies remain tight-lipped about their investigation of the property belonging to Susan Monica, as the Wimer woman faces murder charges.

Monica was arrested earlier this month,a ccused of murdering and dismembering the bodies of Robert Haney and a second person whose identity has not been released.

For the past 20 days, Jackson County Sheriff’s deputies and Search and Rescue crews have been seen at Monica’s property along West Evans Creek Road. Sheriff’s cars are still not allowing access to the private roads that lead to Monica’s property, although people who live along those roads are being let in and out. Both the Sheriff’s office and Jackson County District Attorney’s office have not said how many employees are out there, the type of work they are doing, or what they are looking for. It has now been two weeks since the agencies have released any new information to the public, even as their presence on Monica’s property continues.

Monica remains in the Jackson County Jail, charged with two counts of murder, two counts of abuse of a corpse, and one count of identity theft. She is scheduled for a pre-trial hearing in March.
