Although the gunman is dead, officials with the Southern Oregon High Tech Crimes Task Force say it is important to continue to investigate to see if the gunman acted alone or was part of a larger plan.

“The victims, the family, the community are expecting to have some answers as to why this kind of senseless tragedy can occur and what remedies we can apply as a society, as a community, as law enforcement to reduce that risk for future events,” explained Det. Sgt. Colin Fagan.

Officials say cell phone data can provide locations of Roberts before the shooting and can also provide contacts he may have made in the days leading up to the tragedy.
