MEDFORD, Ore. – Medford Police say they are getting tips from people who may have seen a Southern Oregon cab driver Saturday night just before he was murdered. Officers are following up on every tip they’re receiving.

Investigators were back out talking to people and looking for any clues that could lead to a suspect in the murder of 58-year-old cab driver William Huson. Medford Police say calls have been coming in with people hoping their tip could help the ongoing investigation. Police say they are interested in talking with anyone in the area of Front and Main Streets around 10:40 p.m. Saturday night.

More than 20 detectives and investigators are still on the case and took a look at surveillance video from Howie’s to see if it could provide any clues. Medford Police Lieutenant Mike Budreau said the cab is still being searched for evidence and because of the number of passengers a cab sees, the process is a little more challenging than a regular vehicle.

“The more sterile you can have a piece of evidence, the better. We’re dealing with a cab that’s very active, a lot of people in and out which can complicate matters but nothing we can’t overcome,” said Lt. Budreau.

Police are also urging homes and businesses with surveillance systems in the area where the cab was last seen, along front street, where the body was found, off Helo Drive and Vilas Road and where the cab was found near 9th Street and Almond to take a look and see if the cab appears. Police say this will help narrow down a time line of when the events unfolded.

Medford Police have now released a possible description of the suspect in this murder. Further, investigators are still attempting to determine if the suspect was in a local business in the area prior to getting into the cab.

The possible suspect is described as a white adult male with a fair complexion, 25-35 years old, 6’1″ to 6’2″ in height, around 170-190 lbs; he is said to be “pockmarked” he might have acne on his face and he has no facial hair. The suspect was also described as Wearing a black ball cap, black “Carhartt style” coat and jeans.

If anyone saw the suspect matching the description or have information on this case, please call the Medford Police Department at 541-770-4783.
