A weak front remains just offshore, where most of the cloud cover currently lies as well. Not much will come of this system other than cloud cover. The Coast will be under clouds through the end of the week with light sprinkles possible, but inland areas should continue to see mostly sunny conditions Thursday.
Winds are out of the Southwest and this is driving smoke from Northern California fires into Southern Oregon. Winds at the surface still remain out of the North, Northwest and this is also bringing smoke just south and east of the fires. Expect increasing smoke across inland areas Thursday.
Instability begins rising Friday, but it doesn’t look like enough moisture and instability are in place to really support thunderstorm activity all that well. A very slight chance remains Friday afternoon and evening for the higher terrain and East Side, and this chance rises slightly into Saturday.
Temperatures will cool down by several degrees Friday and Saturday as well, before warming up again by Sunday.
