Medford, Ore. — Garlic is a great addition to any dish and it’s easy to grow yourself. Now is the time to start thinking about it if you want it in your winter garden.
There are two main types of garlic including hardneck and softneck. There’s also elephant garlic, which is actually a member of the leek family.
OSU Extension Master Gardeners said you should place orders from seed catalogs now, to get them by mid-September. Garlic should be planted between mid-September through November.
