Idaho Fugitive Cleared from Hospital

PearsonMugMEDFORD, Ore. – One of the suspects in Thursday’s officer involved shooting has been medically cleared from the hospital, and is now in the Jackson County Jail.

Wayne Pearson, 29, is being held without bail, charged as a fugitive from another state. Meanwhile 31 year-old Shavon Willard is still recovering from gunshot wounds at Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center

The two fugitives from Idaho were initially taken into custody after a police chase and officer-involved shooting on Hilton Road. The District Attorney’s office is still determining what charges will be filed related to that incident.

Meanwhile the investigation remains on hold for the weekend. Spokespeople for Medford Police say the truck the two were driving, which had been stolen in this area, is in their possession but has not yet been searched. That search warrant is expected to be executed on Monday.

Police say there is no timeframe on charges yet as it will take a while to extradite the two back to Idaho.
