Medford, Ore. — A truck hit icy patches of road along the freeway, causing it to flip and land near milepost 31 and Biddle Road.
It happened just before 7 a.m. on I-5. Oregon State Police said the cold air coming underneath bridges makes patches of the freeway, slicker than the regular road surface.
“Every morning, the roads are going to be slick. We still have snow on the side of the roads and its warming up a little bit, so that snow is melting off and putting a little bit of water on the road,” said Sergeant First Class Jeff Proulx.
The driver of the truck was not hurt. The state trooper said she was wearing a seat belt.
