WHITE CITY, Ore.– The Rogue Transfer and Recycling Station is getting ready to host its “Household Hazardous Waste Drop-Off Days” this weekend. From 8 a.m. to 4p.m. On Friday and Saturday, resident can bring items down to the station located at 8001 Table Rock Road in White City. There is a 5 dollar fee, which includes the first cubic yard of hazardous waste.
Items that are acceptable to bring include: cleaning supplies like window cleaner, drain cleaner, bathroom cleaner and any products containing bleach or ammonia, old pesticides and insecticides, swimming pool chemicals, weed killers not currently approved for use, old paint removers, old or toxic wood preservatives, light ballasts, batteries, and thermostats containing mercury.
Items that are not acceptable to bring include: Oil -based or Latex Paint, fluorescent light tubes, medical or biological waste, explosives, radioactive materials, ammunition, anti-freeze, commercial or industrial waste (this service is by application only), asbestos, 55-gallon drums, propane tanks, metal canisters, or fire extinguishers. In addition, Rogue Disposal cannot accept waste in containers larger than five gallons.
