GOLD HILL, Ore. — The Oregon Vortex and House of Mystery is opening for the season this weekend.   Managers said everything will remain pretty much the same and no major changes are being made.

Tours of the spherical force field are given every day from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with tour guides showing guests the naturally occurring phenomenon that continues to trick the eyes and play games with the mind.

Every year thousands of travelers and locals visit the vortex.  Some said they make it a yearly tradition, while others won’t return for years.

“People come back and say I remember this from when I was here when I was 6 years old… I am 65 now, and this is the first time I’ve been back and I still remember that broom or that golf ball,” said Elena Cooper, The Oregon Vortex and House of Mystery Assistant Manager.

This is the 84th year The Oregon Vortex and House of Mystery has been open to the public.
