House Fire in Central Point

fire truckCENTRAL POINT, Ore. — Firefighters were called overnight to a house fire in Central Point, but arrived to find the fire almost completely put out.

The fire started just before midnight at a home on the 2000 block of Lotus Lane. The homeowners were asleep inside when the smoke and flames started.

Firefighters from Fire District 3 said the fire was reported on the exterior of the home and made its way to the attic area, but when they arrived the people living in the house had all come out safely and used a garden hose to douse the flames.

Firefighters helped completely put out hot areas near the attic, but said the homeowners helped keep the fire from getting bigger. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
