ASHLAND, Ore. — A house fire in Ashland spread to the surrounding trees and has caused lane closures on Interstate 5.
Firefighters in Ashland say they were able to prevent a house fire from spreading to wild lands on Monday afternoon.
Fire crews responded to the house fire in the 400 block of Crowson Road around 2:30 p.m. Monday afternoon. They say the fire burned much of the house before it was brought under control.
No one was hurt during the fire. The flames sparked a quarter acre grass fire in nearby vegetation, but crews were able to contain it quickly. Because the fire was so close to I-5, a northbound lane was closed for a short time.
