House Approves Veterans Affairs Bill

veteran(CNN) — There is now less job security at the Department of Veterans Affairs after the House approved a bill earlier this morning. This bill makes it easier to demote or fire executives.

Right now, Senior officials get at least a months notice about a possible firing and have an option to appeal. The bill was backed by Representative Jeff Miller, who is also the Chairman of the House Veterans Affairs Committee.

The Republican from Florida said this move was necessary because of “bureaucratic red tape.” Senator Marco Rubio, also a Republican from Florida, has a similar bill in the Senate, but there’s no word on when it is due to be considered.
