CENTRAL POINT, Ore. – Before it began Friday afternoon, more than a hundred people waited at the door to the Southern Oregon Home Show. Some are anxious to find ideas for home improvement, thanks to the newly improved housing market numbers in Jackson County.
People are filling in and out of the Expo for the Southern Oregon Fall Home Show this weekend. There are more than two hundred booths set up here showing everything from home improvement, to landscaping, to buying and selling a home.
Right now, local realtors say its the best time to sell. There is a bigger demand for homes in Jackson County right now than are supplied, which means houses are now selling quickly. Coldwell Banker Realtor Therese MacGregor said a home for sale in our area will go in less than 30 days, on average.
Some people are just spending the afternoon at the Home Show to pass the time, but others are more seriously looking for ideas on how to improve their home. Some would like to fix up a place to sell, while others would like to fix up a place they just bought.
One couple at the event said they are hoping to retire in Medford and are having a hard time finding a home because of the low inventory numbers. The Southern Oregon Home Show continues Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and again on Sunday from 11 p.m. to 4 p.m.
