JACKSONVILLE, Ore. — The Southern Oregon Historical Society say they are in good financial shape for the first time since Jackson County pulled funding.
The group says they lost that funding in 2007, but this year they will be able to expand. The city of Jacksonville helped out, by taking over four buildings that needed work.
The group also sold some artifacts not related to Southern Oregon. It reportedly costs $450,000 each year, with a full time staff of three and eight part-time employees, as well as hundreds of volunteers.
