MEDFORD, Ore. – The busiest travel day of the year is right around the corner and the weather is threatening to put a damper on those plans, but despite the strong winds travel at the Medford Airport is going on as planned.
On Monday morning, the National Weather Service put out a high wind warning for the Rogue Valley International Medford Airport. The airport says at this point, the wind has not delayed or canceled any flights. After getting the high wind warning, the airport went through a checklist to prepare for the strong gusts.
The airport also has back-up generators in place in case of a power outage. Due to the strong winds and forecast rains, the airport director suggests that fliers arrive at the airport early and call their airline ahead of time.
