The ridge of high pressure is still sitting over our area and keeping weather conditions mostly the same. This includes: sunny skies, few clouds, and large temperature fluctuations. Thursday morning started out in the 40’s along the coast, and the further you moved inland, temperatures dropped to the upper 20’s. Then, as temperatures warmed up we rebounded to the lower 70’s in some areas. This is expected to be the trend for the next day or so.
A weak cold front will move into our area Friday afternoon. This will be enough to build in clouds and some moisture. At this time, any shower activity will be light in nature and isolated. The best chance for showers will be along the coast and the North Klamath Basin. As we progress through Thursday, we will have a better idea of where this will fall. Temperature fluctuations will be smaller on Friday, due to the clouds moving in.
After the front passes, this weekend is shaping up to be a lot like the last few days. High pressure will build back into the area and we will get back to cold mornings and warm afternoons. This is likely how we will start the week as well. Models are showing a weakening of the ridge starting Tuesday, and the next storm system rolling in on Wednesday.
Thanks for logging on and have a great day!
