The heat will be peaking these next few days. High temperatures are expected to stay in the triple digits through tomorrow. For that reason, the National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for West Side Valleys and for the Shasta Valley. Both will go into effect at noon today but expire at different times. For the West Side, the advisory will expire tomorrow night at 10pm and for Northern California at 10pm Thursday night.
Over Siskiyou County isolated thunderstorms are possible today, although most locations will likely be dry. By tomorrow, storms look to be more likely. At this point, the storm threat will expand to the Basin however this will just be for Wednesday and Thursday. Through the end of the week thunderstorms are possible over Northern California.
High temperatures will gradually cool throughout the week and the valleys will be back into the low to mid 90’s by the weekend. We could even have some showers moving in by next week.
