MEDFORD, Ore. — Six local organizations that help prevent domestic violence is getting a bit of their own assistance.
The Hearts and Vines Foundation handed out checks to these groups totaling more than $160,000. This is the 20th year Hearts and Vines hosted the event.
The six groups were presented the award at the Medical Eye Center in Medford Tuesday. The money was raised through a dinner and auction hosted by the foundation last August. Organizers say it is the people who participate in that event that help to make the awards possible.
“We wouldn’t be able to have a successful event and be able to award this without our sponsors and participants at the event, so we’re so very thankful from the board of trustees of Hearts and Vines to the community,” said Joe Mussio, President of the Hearts and Vines Foundation.
More than 40 people attended the event Tuesday.
