CENTRAL POINT, Ore. — People driving near the Jackson County Fairgrounds are seeing an unusual construction project coming together one bale at a time.
Huge stacks of bales of straw are being hoisted into place and formed into a large maze. Each bale is carefully fitted to help form the walls that will make up the twists, turns and inevitable dead ends of the maze.
This is the first time the builders of the maze have constructed one in this area, but they say they bring twenty years of experience in building similar mazes in other areas.
The “Haymazing Straw Maze” is scheduled to open the weekend after Labor Day.
