MEDFORD, Ore. – Tuesday morning Harry & David in South Medford donated 8,000 pounds of peaches to ACCESS Food Share.
“Harry and David is a wonderful charitable partner for ACCESS and the Southern Oregon community,” said Philip Yates, ACCESS Nutrition Programs Director. “It’s important for families experiencing hunger to have access to healthy, fresh produce. We are very appreciative of Harry & David’s contribution to help people in need.”
These peaches will not just help Jackson County residents, but neighboring food banks in Southern Oregon. Another food drive for ACCESS will be held Labor Day weekend at the Annual Taste of Harry & David.
As the Community Action Agency of Jackson County, ACCESS has been helping Jackson County residents break the cycle of poverty since 1976, with 15 different programs. ACCESS helps low-income families and seniors through economic crisis by guiding them through changes in habits to help them become self-sustaining.
