CENTRAL POINT, Ore. — Saturday is Flag Day and Hanley Farm is ringing in the holiday with a lawn party. Local food vendors, jewelry makers, and painters all set up shop on the historic farm property.
Along with buying and selling hand-made goods, guests coming out to the event could take a guided tour of the historic Hanley house.
Lawn games were also set up outside including badminton and horseshoes. This was the first year for the event, paying a patriotic tribute to our country.
“I think it is a wonderful holiday… it doesn’t carry any of the heaviness of Memorial Day, and it doesn’t carry the wild and craziness of the Fourth of July,” said Rob Esterlein, Executive Director of the Southern Oregon Historical Society.
The money raised from the event goes back to the Southern Oregon Historical Society.
