SALEM, Ore. — Oregon will be getting shaken up in the coming weeks. The Great Oregon ShakeOut, a statewide earthquake drill, is scheduled for Thursday, October 18th.
The event is focused on making sure people know what to do if a major earthquake does hit. Experts believe Oregon could have a large seismic event in the coming years.
So far, more than 80,000 people across the state have registered to take part in schools, businesses or their homes. For more information, you can head to http://www.shakeout.org/oregon/ to see who is participating in your area.
