Del Rio Vineyards is filing a complaint against the gravel operation, Knife River. Knife River received a conditional use permit to expand its operations, and now local businesses and residents are worried about its impacts.
Monday, several Gold Hill residents attended the hearing at the Auditorium of Jackson County Offices. Some say they are also worried the dust and debris from the operation will put peoples’ health at risk and hurt property values.
“It’s really an area that is more tourist minded and camping and casual and recreational versus rotten oil and dirt and dust,” said a Gold Hill resident.
Del Rio officials say the hearing judge now has six to eight weeks to make a decision on how to move forward. He says organizers plan to submit more evidence and documentation during this time.
