Grass Fire Stopped Quickly

CENTRAL POINT, Ore. — A fire along Interstate Five burned close to a home and slowed traffic on Friday afternoon.

It happened near mile marker 33 in Central Point. Fire District 3 says the grass fire burned about one acre and burned blackberries. The fire went up onto the back side of properties, but no homes were threatened.

Two units from ODF and four units from Fire District 3 responded. Fire officials currently have an investigator on scene and the cause is under investigation.
