GRANTS PASS, Ore. — The body of a seventeen year-old Chase Davison was recovered early Sunday morning in an irrigation canal near the intersection of Hamilton Lane and Harpazo Lane in Grants Pass.
Emergency crews were called out just before 3:00 p.m. Saturday and worked until they were able to recover the body around 9:00 a.m. Sunday morning. Grants Pass Department of Public Safety says Davison bypassed a safety grate and attempted to swim through the underground irrigation canal.
Officials say high water levels made the recovery difficult and a camera was used to help locate the body once the flow of water could be stopped. The incident has been determined to be an accident, however it is still under investigation.
