GRANTS PASS, Ore. — The Grants Pass Department of Public Safety is going through changes with its administration as Chief Joe Henner’s retirement approaches.
Former Deputy Chief Bill Landis will now be the interim Chief of Police beginning January 1st. Landis has 23 years of law enforcement experience.
Lieutenant Jim Hamilton will fill in Landis’ place as Deputy Chief.
It’s yet to be decided if their positions will be permanent. The city manager will be responsible for choosing who will fill positions.
“We’ve got several things coming up, including budget and strategic plan that needs to be completed and at that point they will make the decision about either doing a national recruitment or whatever to fill a position permanently,” explained Landis.
Sergeant Todd Moran will be interim Lieutenant.
