GRANTS PASS, Ore. — Grants Pass Department of Public Safety have now released the identity and cause of death of a body found along the Rogue River about two weeks ago.
Police say the body of 48-year-old Frank James Bewley was found on Saturday, July 13th, around 11 a.m. Police said someone called to report discovering a decomposing body in the bushes west of 5th Street Lookout in Grants Pass.
The scene was processed and the body was removed and transported to a secure area for examination by the Josephine County Medical Examiner. An autopsy was conducted on July 23rd, and police say it appears Bewley died of natural causes.
Police said Bewley was a transient who recently arrived in the Grants Pass area. Police said they have notified next of kin.
