GRANTS PASS, Ore. – A Grants Pass man who police believed was armed and dangerous, barricaded himself in a house Monday morning.
Officers responded to the 1300 block of Conklin Avenue for an investigation on another case. They spotted Matthew McNeal outside of the home and say he then ran inside.
Police say McNeal has a warrant out for his arrest for charges on theft and a felon in possession of a firearm. Multiple officers surrounded the home after he refused to come outside.
“He does have a history of weapons, so we didn’t’ take any chances, we locked the area down, brought more officers in and at that point made the announcement and he was taken into custody without incident,” stated Grants Pass Police Deputy Chief Jeff Geddings.
Officers are not indicating whether or not the homeowner will face charges.
