MEDFORD, Ore. – The United Way of Jackson County is receiving a $7,500 grant to help fund a series of activities in April.
The money, awarded by Oregon Humanities, will pay for the United Way’s “Humanity Walks.” The events will allow volunteers to walk with various groups and discuss community problems related to those groups.
For example, a “Success Walk” will take students to the RCC/SOU Higher Education building to discuss college plans, and a “Seniors Walk” will involve seniors discussing health issues while walking at the Rogue Valley Mall.
The United Way says they would not have been able to organize these events without that grant funding. All the events are planned for April, but exact dates have not been set.
