Rain showers developed overnight over much of Siskiyou County and in the Klamath Basin. As of 8am, rain showers are still present over Northern California and in Lake County. As the day wears on these showers will begin to dissipate as they travel east.
Skies will be partly sunny over Siskiyou Co. today and east of the Cascades. More sun is expected along and west of the mountains as another day of high heat unfolds. Temperatures are expected to top out in the mid and upper 90’s across West Side Valleys. Siskiyou Co. is still under a heat advisory through 10pm tonight, however I would not be surprised if this is canceled earlier than this time ..as highs are not exactly warm enough to warrant the advisory. Only Happy Camp should be climbing into the triple digits.
Isolated thunderstorms are possible into this evening, only over Northern California though. This threat is in the forecast for Friday as well here. Elsewhere, it will be dry and mostly sunny through the first half of the weekend. Sunday will bring in some high clouds and temperatures will begin cooling down into early next week.
The cool down does not look to be as cool as computers were suggesting yesterday. However, highs should be about 10 degrees cooler region-wide by Monday. The rain chances also do not look as good either. This could certainly change in the coming days though.
