Governor Visits Oregon Gulch Fire

Oregon Gulch FireNEAR ASHLAND, Ore. — Governor Kitzhaber is attending a field briefing of the Beaver Complex Wednesday morning and getting to meet the incident commander of the Oregon Gulch Fire.

The Oregon Gulch Fire is burning 36,568 acres and 9,464 acres in California. Fire crews have it holding at 30% containment right now. The second fire in the complex, the Salt Creek Fire is 155 acres in size and is at 87% containment. Both fires were caused by lightning on July 30, 2014.
