Gospel Mission Holds Thanksgiving Feast

gospel missionGRANTS PASS, Ore. — While many people are still enjoying their Thanksgiving meals, volunteers in Grants Pass are making sure no one goes without food this holiday. More than 75 volunteers at the Gospel Mission cooked and served the Thanksgiving dinner.

Preparations for the dinner took more than a week, and volunteers came out early Thursday morning to help set up and prepare the home-made meal. Hot turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, stuffing and cranberry sauce were all packed high onto plates.

“It’s really even more than I could ever imagine you know to be warm and our beds are clean, our beds our showers, to sit here and eat like this…it’s a feast,” says Gospel Mission resident Michael Powell.

This year the group wanted to get people together from different walks of life, the theme was “Meet Your Homeless Neighbor”. Some said it felt like one big happy family.
