MEDFORD, Ore. — Oregon’s unemployment rate ranks 36th in the nation, and that is why Southern Oregon Goodwill is trying to make a difference. The organization is hosting the first of two job fairs this week.

Goodwill said if you are looking for an employment opportunity, a job fair can make a big difference.

“It’s just coming in with help getting a resume or getting in front of employers, having mentors… just all kinds of things that help them have the confidence and the tools to get new employment so they can be financially stable,” said Julie Fletcher, Goodwill Marketing and Community Relations Manager.

Goodwill said job fairs like this are possible because of consumer support and donations.  Eighty-five cents on every dollar spent at Goodwill goes back to community resources.
