HAPPY CAMP, Calif. — The Goff Fire and the Fort Complex Fire have been declared 100% contained. No fire movement outside the current perimeter is expected.
Mop-up, patrol and suppression repair operations are beginning. The incident command post in Happy Camp is being downsized to support approximately 200 personnel.
The base camp at Applegate Lake, Oregon has been completely closed. Smoke will continue to be visible, but should not be a concern and could continue until the first significant rainfall occurs.
In all, the Goff Fire burned 22,278 acres after beginning on August 5th because of lightning.
