GRANTS PASS, Ore. – A 4-and-a-half-foot lizard that roamed the streets of Grants Pass is now safely back in his owner’s arms.
Godzilla the Lizard escaped his cage about ten days ago. Neighbors on A and 11th Street spotted him poking his head through a storm drain. The owner says one neighbor almost killed Godzilla, thinking he was a python, but many ended up calling the cops.
The owner was able to coax Godzilla out of the storm drain with a rat and fried eggs. Police want to remind residents that wild animals can not live within city limits. The owner said he plans to keep Godzilla with a friend who lives outside the city.
