CAVE JUNCTION, Ore. — A young girl who was hit by a drunk driver is still recovering and is asking for the community’s help.
Parents of 11 year-old Sarah Craugh say in August, a drunk driver speeding on Laurel road in Cave Junction hit their daughter. Sarah was walking the families dogs when her mom says the impact launched her daughter up and slammed her back into the ground.
“We’re very very thankful that it didn’t kill her. And when it hit her, I kind of lost my mind. I screamed for her dad,” says mother Carol Craugh.
Sarah is now suffering from multiple injuries. The most severe damages are to her legs and her toe is nearly severed.
The driver is now in a coma and the family says that driver was unlicensed and uninsured. The Craugh family is buried in medical expenses. Mothers Against Drunk Drivers is helping the family but you can help too. Donations for Sarah’s medical bills are being accepted at the South Valley Bank in Cave Junction
