MEDFORD, Ore. – Drivers in the Medford-Ashland area are paying a full quarter more this morning for gas than just a week ago.
AAA reports the average for a gallon of gasoline in Rogue Valley area is up a full cent from just yesterday. Oregon’s average also trumps national average by 18 cents.
AAA officials say the Chevron refinery fire in California continues to be a factor in the spike and that fire is affecting more than just Chevron gas stations because West coast stations share their gas supply.
In the Medford-Ashland area, the average is $3.98, up three cents from yesterday, and 25 cents since last week. The Oregon average for Tuesday is $3.88. In California, the price is over 4 dollars a gallon. Compare those prices to the national average of $3.70.
