MEDFORD, Ore. — Fire officials are looking to what caused a garage fire that broke out this afternoon in Medford.
The fire happened in the 8000 block of Spring Street. Extensive damage was done to the back side of the garage and the attic above.
Fire officials estimate the total cost of damage to be somewhere in the eight-thousand dollar range. Neighbors say the homeowners weren’t home at the time.
“It was just massive amounts of flames coming out, and on the roof there. There was just gray billowing smoke so then the firemen arrived and started putting it out and they were here a good hour,” said neighbor Theresa Graham.
Fire officials say they aren’t sure how the fire started, but say arson does not appear to be a factor. The fire remains under investigation as of Sunday night.
