MEDFORD, Ore. — A gang member is back behind bars, after being arrested for the second time this week in Jackson County. The original arrest, made New Year’s Eve, occurred after 21-year-old Jaime Castro allegedly led Sheriff’s Deputies in a high speed chase, from White City to Medford.
Wednesday, Jackson County Sheriffs Deputies served a search warrant on the same vehicle involved in that pursuit, that ended when spike strips were used to stop the vehicle. The deputies say they found meth, a scale, package materials for selling drugs, cash and a rifle, because of the amount of drugs and associated paraphernalia found, the charges will count it as a commercial drug offence.
Castro is now lodged in the Jackson County Jail, on a number of drug, firearms, and reckless driving charges. The Sheriff’s Office says this is the 2nd time he’s faced drug and weapons charges within the past month.
