ASHLAND, Ore. — Friends of Karen Greenstein paid tribute to her on Friday, one day after she was killed by a wrong-way driver on Interstate 5.
Loran Faudree, owner of Mail Stop in Ashland, hung a banner outside his business Friday that reads “Thank You Karen Greenstein.” The two had known each other for years, and their children were friends at school.
He said he wanted to make the gesture to show how much she meant to her friends and family in southern Oregon, and said people appreciated her work as an emergency dispatcher, and as a good person.
“She’s a treasure in our community,” Faudree said. “And I wanted to acknowledge not only a good person but also a good person doing a good thing.”
Faudree said he wants Greenstein’s surviving family to know that people are willing to support them through the difficult time.
