PORT ORFORD, Ore. — The man who confessed to burying his father under a trailer is waiting for his sentencing.
Police say Corey Starks’s father died of natural causes back in 2010, and after his death and hidden burial, Starks continued to cash in his father’s Social Security checks.
Back in March of this year, a neighbor in the anchor Inn RV Park in Port Orford, found a human skull during park renovations. The skull was identified as Charles Starks, Corey’s father.
The Curry County District Attorney’s Office issued a warrant for Corey Starks on charges of abusing a corpse in the second degree. Starks had left the RV Park in 2010 and was found in Remer, Minnesota.
He plead guilty this week in the Curry County Circuit Court. The District Attorney’s Office is preparing a sentencing date.
