Fourth of July Travelers Return Home

holiday travelMEDFORD, Ore. —  With the Fourth of July weekend ending, travelers are starting to head back home.   According to AAA, 41 million Americans packed up and visited a specific destination this year for Independence Day.

The Fourth of July has more people behind the wheel than any other summer holiday.   Eighty-five percent of Americans traveling will be driving to and from their vacation location.   This is the highest percentage of drivers hitting the road since 2007.

Sunday is the busiest when it comes to travel with 38 percent of people returning home, according to AAA.

This year the price of gas, lodging and airfare all increased from years past.
