OWYHEE , Ore. — There are at least four fires burning in Oregon right now, all in Malheur County, and all are believed to have been caused by lightning.

Four miles outside of Adrian, the Owyhee fire is burning out of control. It has charred more than 40,000 acres by some reports, and at this time it is 0% contained, with no estimated containment date.

The Curry Canyon fire, near Juntura, has scorched an estimated 4,500 acres, and is the only fire with any containment at this time, officials say it is 25% contained.

Two other fires are both around 2,500 acres and have no containment reported. The Crooked Creek fire is burning near Rome, Oregon. The Pascal fire is just west of Arock.
